On Monday, May 12, the ECC celebrated Mrs. Fridrich and her 34 year legacy teaching first grade at Prague Early Childhood Center. Many former and current teachers and students came out to pay tribute to a teacher who has led instruction and taught generations of families to read in this community. Congratulations to Mrs. Fridrich! Thank you for the work you have done and the love you have poured out into our students over the years. You've seen students grow up and return with their own children, and now some of them with their grandchildren. Now it is Mrs. Fridrich's turn. Her retirement has been timed just right to greet her first grandchild into the world this summer. She will always be a teacher at heart, but she is making plenty of room for a new role that is very special, one her new little love will soon call her: Gigi. Congratulations!

We could not be more proud of Mrs. Freeze! She was nominated by her peers at the ECC and won through campus voting as this year's 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year. Each campus does the same process for their own staff. The winners are then in the running for the District Teacher of the Year. That person is chosen by former Teachers of the Year, and it must be an incredibly hard choice every year because of the quality of folks who earn this award on their campuses. It's truly an honor to be selected by your peers at each level, and we want to say congratulations to all the teachers who were honored last night. Prague Schools are truly blessed by the work each one does for our students. Now that Mrs. Freeze was chosen as District Teacher of the Year, she will go on to the next level for State Teacher of the Year. We wish her the best of luck!

Happy National Nurses Day to Nurse Hankins on Tuesday, May 6! Thank you for all you do!!

The ECC would like to invite parents to treat your child's teachers and paras the week of May 5-9 for Teacher Appreciation Week!
